What is tithing?
Tithing is a biblical practice rooted in the understanding that we give back to God a portion of what He has already given to us. In scripture, this is understood as giving 10% of our income to the local church. When we tithe, we’re investing in what God is doing through His people, helping His kingdom grow and lives be transformed.
“What do you have that you did not receive?”
1 Corinthians 4:7This verse reminds us that everything we have is ultimately a gift from God – our finances, our resources, and our time. We don’t give because God needs our money. We give because it acknowledges that He is the provider of all we have.

At Parkwood, we believe generosity goes far beyond money. It’s about how we live—with our time, our talents, and our resources. Sometimes it’s easy to think, “God gets 10%, and the rest is mine,” but the truth is that everything we have belongs to Him. Every dollar, every opportunity, every gift comes from God, and we’re simply stewards of what He’s entrusted to us.
When we give, we’re not just supporting a ministry; we’re aligning our hearts with His. And as we grow in generosity, we reflect more and more of the generous heart of God to the world around us.

Your giving helps create a welcoming space where people encounter Jesus every week. This fund supports our main operations, which include ongoing ministry, weekend services, all ministries, care, outreach, staffing, and facilities.

You can make donations to any of the following areas: General, Missions, ALMS (benevolence fund), Parkwood Outreach Centre, our church expansion project (Build This House), or the Food Bank.
On occasion, we set up time-limited funds such as Backpacks for Begley or the Staff Christmas Love Offering.

No. Your tithe is between you and God. We will not ask you about it or pressure you to donate.

Tax receipts are issued in February of the following year for your tax filing.

You may update your address by contacting the church office.

A tithe is 10% of your income given to your home church.
An offering is an additional donation toward specific projects such as our expansion project (Build This House) or outreach initiatives.

Although e-Transfers are convenient, they carry risks due to the email portion of the transfer. Email addresses can be hacked, potentially giving a hacker access to pending transfers. For this reason, eTransfers are not an option for donations at Parkwood.

Yes. Parkwood uses secure methods to protect your personal and financial information:
Online Banking (Bill Payment through your bank): Your donations are processed directly through your bank, without sharing sensitive information with us. This method is safe and deposits funds into the Parkwood account the next business day.
Automatic Transfer or Preauthorized Withdrawal: Transfers occur directly from your bank to Parkwood’s account on the 15th of each month. No third-party access is involved, making this a secure option.
Online via our Website (Subsplash): Donations go through a trusted third-party platform. Each donor creates a private user ID, and Parkwood staff cannot access personal or payment information. This secure system deposits donations every Wednesday, though standard transaction fees apply.
