About Us

Our ministry is for children from birth through grade 5, creating a safe and welcoming space where they can encounter the love of Jesus. We aim to partner with families to help kids grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and discover their place in God’s family. 

At Parkwood Kids, every child is known, loved, and encouraged to discover who they are in Christ. 

Our heart is for kids to walk away each week knowing: 

God knows me.

Jesus loves me.

The Holy Spirit leads me.

I am a child of God.

Did you know Parkwood Kids is almost entirely volunteer-led? We serve over 400 kids every month, and we need your help! We invite our church family to share the privilege of teaching, loving, and shaping the next generation. Sunday Kids Programs

Explore the exciting adventures that Sunday mornings have for your little ones.

Our Programs

Parkwood Kids Sundays

Programs are available at both of our Sunday gatherings!

On Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:30, our nursery-to-grade 5 programs welcome kids into a safe, fun, and faith-filled environment. Early years enjoy engaging worship, and every group participates in a biblically focused story video, creative crafts, and hands-on activities that help children apply God’s Word to their everyday lives, along with prayer and meaningful connections with leaders and friends.

*All volunteers have completed our Child Protection Program, Parkwood Plan to Protect.

  • Arrive early

    Check-in opens 30 minutes before each Sunday service and is required for all children being dropped off. Classroom doors open 15 minutes before the service. Please check in as soon as you arrive, as classroom capacity is limited.

  • Find our check-in centre

    Enter through the gym entrance and head right to the check-in centre to sign in your child using our secure check-in system. If you need help finding Kids Check-In, our welcome team will be happy to direct you!

  • Check in your kids

    Our check-ins team will register your kids so they can use our secure system each week. Save time on Sunday morning by completing the online registration form below.

Additional Sunday Programs

  • Wiggles & Giggles Room

    Available Sundays during services in room 105

    Mornings can be tough—whether your little one isn’t up for class, you’re not ready to leave your baby in the nursery, or your child has additional needs. Located just off the west lobby, the Wiggles & Giggles Room offers open play and a livestream of the Sunday service, so kids can play while you enjoy church.

    (This room is not staffed. Parents/guardians must stay with their children.)

  • Moms Room

    Available Sundays during services in the nursery

    Sometimes you just need a quiet, comfortable space for you and your baby. Located inside our nursery (ask a volunteer to direct you), the Moms Room offers comfortable chairs, a changing station, a refrigerator, and a livestream of the Sunday service so you won’t miss a moment.

    This is a women-only space to ensure privacy. Additional changing stations are also available in our family washroom and most main washrooms for both men and women.

Midweek Programs

Grades 1–5

Kidsplosion

Meets every Wednesday at 7 PM

Kidsplosion is our midweek community group for grades 1–5 with Bible-based teaching, worship, fun activities, and time to connect with leaders and other kids. Some nights include parents, so watch for special events!

We meet every Wednesday, 7:00–8:30 PM, September through May, with check-in 15 minutes early at the gym entrance for children being dropped off.

Ages 0–5

Mommy & Me

Meets every Friday at 9 AM

A Friday morning gathering for young moms with babies, toddlers and preschoolers, Mommy & Me is a time to connect, play, and support each other. Some weeks, childcare volunteers are available so moms can step away for chat, Bible study or a special activity.

We meet every Friday, 9:00–11:00AM, September through June. Contact our administrator Joelle Kmet with any questions.

  • Our ministry is for children from birth through grade 5, with age-appropriate programming designed to help every child grow in their faith and feel at home in God’s family.

  • We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am and 11:30 am at Parkwood Gospel Church, as well as Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm for our midweek program, Kidsplosion.

  • First-time families can register at our Kids Check-In station when they arrive. After that, you’re welcome to join us any week. No pre-registration required for regular programming.

  • Absolutely! We love welcoming friends, neighbors, and guests. Every child is invited to experience the love of Jesus, whether or not they regularly attend Parkwood. 

  • Both Sunday and Wednesday programs include time to connect with friends and leaders, engaging worship, a Bible story, interactive activities, and prayer. We design every element to help kids apply God’s Word to their everyday lives.

  • Yes! Kids participate in meaningful worship and hear teaching from the Bible every week, tailored to their age group so it’s both engaging and easy to understand.
