What is our mission?

It is our mission at Parkwood for people to “find hope” in the person of Jesus and “find home” within the community of the church.  Our mission spans locally, regionally, nationally and globally (Acts 1:8).  We believe every person in the local church has a role in this mission; in fact, it’s the mission of each generation until Christ returns (Matthew 28:18-20).  Your mission can begin in your own neighbourhood, as well as reach beyond Windsor to “all nations.”
Food Bank
One of the ways we love our neighbours (Mark 12:30-31) is by assisting those in need.  Parkwood Food Bank provides people with healthy food who would otherwise go without.
Hours of Operation:  Tuesdays and Fridays, 10 AM – 1 PM (closed on statutory holidays)
Phone 519-948-7055, x242 for more information.
We also take food donations, which can be dropped off any Sunday, or through the church office during the week.
Every Sunday before Thanksgiving, we also have a food drive to help supply our food bank.
School Breakfast Program
Some children in Windsor go to school on an empty stomach.  The School Breakfast Program provides a morning meal that establishes a launch-pad for a child’s daily education and development.  And the impact also ripples into their family and community. We rely on a committed group of volunteers to serve breakfasts.

Note:  Due to COVID-19, our School Breakfast Program has been put on hold until further notice.  Check back later for more information.

God tells us to pray for ALL people (2 Chronicles 7:14; Acts 17:26-27; 1 Timothy 2:1).  Continually connecting with God as well as praying missionally is a part of what Christ followers are called to do.
Pray for our neighbourhoods, city, province, country, world; for our global workers; for the persecuted church; for how the church can best serve the kingdom of God at this point in history.
Parkwood Ladies Outreach Mission (PLOM)
Parkwood Ladies Outreach Mission (PLOM) sew seeds of hope and encouragement by sewing various articles for local groups and organizations that in turn distribute them to needy families. Crafting and creativity combine with community in making a difference.  Their creations have been given to such organizations as the Melo Clinic, Hiatus House, the Downtown Mission of Windsor, and Huron Lodge, to name a few.

Note:  Due to COVID 19, knitting and crocheting projects are being conducted from home.
Missions Trips
Anyone at Parkwood can be involved in missions, because the mission starts in our own neighbourhoods.  And the mission extends beyond Windsor, from our province to our world.  Consider being a part of one of our Short-Term Missions trips beyond our city.  It will change your life besides the life of someone else!
Note:  Due to COVID-19, all our Short Term Missions trips have been put on hold until further notice.  Check back later for more information

Our Global Workers

You can join with others in helping people find hope beyond our borders. Support our global workers by finding out more about them, praying for them, sending them encouragement, or by financially giving.
